Roofers Local 30 and USRC Roofing Corporation Save the Day

Inadequate materials. Poor safety standards. Deaths on job sites. These are just a few of the results you will likely get when you hire a non-union contractor and workforce. On July 6, a young roofer tragically lost his life on a job site for Amazon in Norristown, PA. The non-union contractor employed for this job is currently being scrutinized for its inadequate safety standards and training for its workers. It also came to light that in the course of construction, roofing materials that were not secured properly were hurled by storm winds into neighboring businesses and cars, causing substantial damage to property.

After much negotiation by the Roofers Local 30 agents, the union was asked to step in with its expertise, alongside a trusted union contractor, USRC Roofing Corporation, to see the project through to completion. For decades, we’ve built our reputation of being on time, on budget, and, most importantly, staying safe on the job site. This will be one of many opportunities for the union to showcase our foolproof safety standards and practices, which ensure that every worker can go home to their families safely at the end of the day. This is yet another testament to Roofers Local 30’s Business Agents’ dedication to seeking out opportunities for members and their expertise in negotiating new contracts that are favorable to our members and contractors.

USRC workers are now on the job site.
